Lights Out/Health Update
Hi, all. As most of you know, I had the flu over the holidays. That turned into a sinus infection. Both are what they are. Neither were super bad, just annoying and it made it very difficult to write. The biggest issue with getting sick for me is that I am chronically ill – which I discussed at length in a previous blog post.
What this means is that after I get sick from literally anything, I have a flare up. That means a lot of pain, the inability to eat solid foods or really sleep, and crippling anxiety because, “Oh, God, how long is it going to last this time?”
Last time, it was three months of hell. This time has been only a few weeks, and – fingers crossed – I feel like I’m starting to recover because I’ve done everything “right”. But I’ve still lost almost a month of writing, editing, and designing. I want Lights Out to be the best book it can possibly be, and while I think I could push to get it done by Valentine’s Day, I know it wouldn’t be the best version of itself.
So I’ve made the heartbreaking decision to push the release back by a month. I am so sorry about this, and trust me when I say that no one is more disappointed than me. Being this sick and having my body turn against itself is something I am still getting used to as my diagnosis is relatively new. I’m not yet at the point where I can just “work through it” (and honestly doubt I ever will be).
I ask you to please be patient and kind while I try to push through the last of my symptoms. A new chapter should be up by Sunday, and everyone in the $10 Patreon tier will be getting a bonus goodie in the mail along with their chapter – they were mailed out this morning (again, I’m so sorry for the delay).
I hope you all are well, and thank you so much for all your support up until this point.
I hope you get better soon! Take care of yourself, health is the most important thing. We can wait!
Thank you so much 🙏
This makes me sad- but I’ve also been sick, far too sick to read! I feel like you’ve just done me a favour because now I won’t miss anything 🙂 get well xo
I hope you feel better soon 🖤
Get better soon 💕
I hope you feel better soon. This is a book worth waiting for! ❤️Respect to you for wanting to make sure that the book is the best it can be before release.
Focus on your health! Everything you have written so far has been wonderful. Its definitely worth the wait!
We all get sick sometimes and it takes as long as it takes to get better. You concentrate on getting better and we’ll be here when you are ready. I hope you have a speedy recovery. 🫂
I’m so sorry navessa 😭 Sending all my love to you! I hope you feel much better soon. Take it easy and remember we’ll be waiting patiently. Your health is more important than a release date.
I am soooo sorry to hear that you are still feeling sick! I completely understand having to push things back.
I know I want the book ASAP but if that’s at the detriment of your health I’ve got all the time in the world to wait.
You focus on feeling better and snuggling with your cats. Thanks for all of your hard work you put in for this book so far and I can’t wait to see what you’ve got in store down the road! (But like what you’re better obviously 😁)
Honestly I’d be more upset thinking you were making yourself worse trying to push through. If you permanently incapacitate yourself trying to achieve the realistically unachievable, then we’ll never have it, will we? You are not your readers’ bitch, and your work is worth waiting for. So we wait. And when we get the next installment, whenever that happens to be, we’ll be goddamn grateful. Big hugs. X
All good things are worth waiting for, especially this book. Please take care of yourself. You have something amazing and handling it with delicate care is a must!
We love you and hope you feel better soon!!!
Be better!
Focus on you and get better! We’ll all still be here ❤️
Just get better! The book can wait (not really but yes REALLY) your health comes first and foremost!
It doesn’t not bother me whatsoever to wait an additional month! I want you to be healthy, and as much as I love this book, your health takes priority over a deadline. Hope you keep on the up & up!
Not bothered at all! Please rest up and get feeing better!
Feel better soon!!!
Would love to read this book but doesn’t seem to be up on Amazon anymore. Will it be getting added back soon?
