Hi, all! Quick update before I explain this poll: Betrayal chapters are going up on a bi-weekly basis on the Radish Fiction app, I’m back to posting chapters of A Fairy’s Tale to the site, The Lunatics is on hold while I fix the ending of the book (I was really unhappy with it and don’t want to post something I don’t love, which is why I’ve been offline for a bit) and The Space Pirate’s Captive is on hiatus while I straighten out Lunatics.
Now, onto the reason for this poll! The other day I pulled up the first book I finished as an adult and started reading it, just to see how far I’ve come as a writer. It’s called Bisclavret, and it’s a paranormal historical romance based on a very old French story about werewolves.
There was a fair bit of passive writing, and for some reason I wrote it in current tense, but overall, it wasn’t terrible. Also, there were some definite parallels between it and the books I went on to write, kind of like that story was my idea workshop. The character of Henri closely resembles Henry from Scandal, and the heroine reminds me a bit of Krista from The Kings of Kearny.
It’s up on Goodreads (the admin there refuse to take it down) so I figure there should be access to it somewhere. I’m toying with the idea of posting it, mostly unedited (I’ll go through and fix any glaring mistakes) to my website, as free to read for all, with the disclaimer that it is my first work so please don’t judge my current abilities by it.
What do you think? Is that something you all would be interested in? A sort of origin of my writing and some of my characters?
