Scandal Edits

Okay, so here’s the thing. I originally finished Scandal in 2014. I left it up in its entirety for a few months, then took it down for editing. Honestly, I had the best intentions. There were elements of it I wasn’t pleased with. Parts I found slightly problematic. So I figured I’d take it down for a few months, fix the parts that displeased me, and then repost and eventually publish it.

THAT WAS FOUR YEARS AGO.

I’m sure many of you faithful readers (bless you all, I would have given up on me sooooo long ago) have been frustrated by the start and stop posting of these edited chapters. At my current rate, I’ll be done with what I deem the “final, final” version sometime in the 2030s.

I don’t want to do that to you. I don’t want to do that to myself.

At this point, this manuscript is starting to feel like more of a burden than anything else. It’s keeping me from fully committing to my other works. It’s keeping me from being able to move forward as a writer.

So I’ve made a decision. I’m done editing Scandal. I’m done trying to turn it into what would amount to an entirely different book than it was.

I’m sure you’re wondering what all this means. Well, I have good news and bad news on that front.

The bad news is that I’m deleting everything currently online and there will be no continuation of the books as a series.

*ducks flying objects*

WAIT! I said there was good news!

The good news is that I’m going to post the original edits I made back to the website. Most of those edits were only to add in some darkness, complexity, and backstory, but the original tale remains the same. In all it’s silly, frivolous, smexy, sometimes awkward and maybe even at times slightly problematic glory.

The other good news is that John, Kit, and Henry get their HEA at the end (because, DUH, this is a romance novel).

I cannot tell you how relieved I am to have made this decision. The weight that has been lifted from my shoulders was heavier than you can possibly imagine.

And to all of you who have stuck in there with me through this journey, I am so, soooo sorry to have dragged it out for so long, and also, ILUVU4EVA.
